THE HIGHLANDS

I have just completed a 1500 mile trip around Scotland filming for a client. Traveling all the way to Durness in the North and working along the West Coast. As always I love the West Coast of Scotland and it never disappoints with its beauty. The weather was very mixed and really rough at times, this always poses a problem when on an assignment and its raining hard and blowing a gale. Anyway the filming was a success and I will post the video on here once it is released by the client. These trips are always as much of an experience as anything else and I always count myself lucky in some of the grand and interesting places I get to stay and the people I get to meet.

 

  

 

 

BUSY TIMES...

It's been a long, long time since I have posted on my blog! With buying a new house, the run up to the wedding day and being very busy with my business, the blog posts have taken a hit. I will be making a real effort to get back on track with them. Like I mentioned we now own a house and along with that a nice little garden, it needs some work and that will take time but I have been putting in some hours to try and create some colour through the spring and summer and with my very limited gardening knowledge I am really pleased with the results. We have got some healthy plants and flowers with great vibrant and beautiful colours. We also have some new four legged residents at the end of the garden that are doing a great job of keeping the grass low in the field just beyond the garden. They did catch me off guard on the day they appeared at the end of the garden, but they are no bother. 

 

 

  

WEDDING ARTWORK

I am very pleased to have started designing our wedding artwork. With us having a woodland wedding I have chosen a woodland theme, colour and have had (and will have) all the artwork printed on luxury stock. We are not having an extravagant wedding but I wanted to do a really great job on the artwork and being in the creative industry I felt that having them created on luxury stock was well worth it! We are both really pleased with the results!

SCRATCHING THE SURFACE

I have recently received a completed copy of a hard back book that I have designed and  created for a client. Being a well known figure within the fishing industry, the book is an autobiography of his fishing life. A lovely looking book and a great success!

MÖHNESEE RESERVOIR - GERMANY

Having just returned from a trip to Germany I am now busy editing the footage for a client. The Möhnesee Reservoir sits East of Dortmund and is a beautiful location. The weather was fantastic with the Autumn colours starting to show and a couple of fabulous still, sunny and misty mornings on the water were perfect for filming. Below were a couple of shots I captured between filming.

SCOTLAND 2015

A superb 2000+ mile trip around Scotland. We travelled from Totley with a quick stop in Alnwick to meet a client and then onwards to Scotland. From Inverness we took the East coast up to John O' Groats and then over to Orkney for a few days. Then back over to the mainland and across the North coast of Scotland and back down along the stunning West coast. I always love to spend time in Scotland and apart from the midge this time was another great time spent. I also proposed to Anne and we are to be married in July 2016.

AN EXCELLENT FEW DAYS

Had an excellent few days working with Howard Croston from Hardy fishing tackle. Fishing on the river Wye, the weather played ball and the filming was a great success.

THE BUSHCRAFT SHOW 2015

Last weekend I created the official show film and photography for the Bushcraft Show 2015. It was a good weekend and the weather played ball with the sun showing it's face and the rain staying away! It is a great opportunity to get creative and produce a set of photography and videography that captures the spirit of The Bushcraft Show. Please see a few images below.

RUNNING LATE

I forgot to post about my Birthday trip (back in late March!). Anne and I ventured up to the Lake District where a few days of bad weather left a blanket of snow over the highlands, and after the bad weather came the good weather! Giving us an opportunity to summit Helvellyn. We left early and managed to safely access the summit above the snow line and we were rewarded with magnificent views. It's a rare treat to be blessed with such fine weather with views over the peaks and out onto the coast in the distance, made even more beautiful with the sun shining and zero wind.
